High School: Claimed four varsity letters swimming the butterfly, individual medley and distance freestyle ... as a freshman, was a Wisconsin state qualifier in the 200 free relay ... earned all-conference honors a year later and qualified for state in the 100 butterfly and the 200 and 400 free relays; she received All-America consideration in the 200 free relay as well ... her junior year saw her garner all-conference awards and qualify for state in the 200 and 400 free relays ... concluded her career by qualifying for state in the 200 freestyle, 500 freestyle and 400 free relay and helping her team to an 11th-place state finish ... placed 16th at the state meet in the 200 and 500 freestyles in 2003.

Personal: Daughter of John and Ann Schmidt ... graduated in the top 10 percent of her class, while earning high honor roll and National Honor Society recognition; also picked up a Scholar Athlete Award ... plans to major in nursing.
