COLUMBIA, Mo. - Freshman Deirdre Mikolajcik finished sixth (5:05.86) in the women's 500 freestyle to earn All-American status and senior Adam Brown became All-America Honorable Mention in both the 500 yard freestyle and the 200 yard butterfly on the third day of the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships. Brown swam to 10th (1:52.57) in the 200 yard butterfly and 16th in the 500 yard freestyle (4:37.00). Brown broke his own school record in the preliminaries of the 500 yard freestyle, touching the wall at 4:34.04. Saturday may be a historic day for the Flyers at the National Championships. Brown has now collected seven All-American honors in his career. If he scores in the 1650 freestyle tomorrow, he will pass Michael Lapustin for the most awards by a Lewis male at the NCAA Championships. |
