ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - Seniors Adrian Myers and Dan Probst each notched NCAA Division II provisionals during a full weekend of action for the Lewis University track and field teams. Lewis athletes were scattered among four meets during the weekend. Probst claimed his provisional in the discus at the Marquette Twilight Meet. He was the only Flyer to compete at Marquette, finishing second with a throw of 169-1. Myers' provisional qualifier came at Hillsdale College's Gina Relays Meet. He was fourth-fastest in the 800 meters (1:52.43). The Flyers also had athletes at the Drake Relays and Concordia's Cougar Invitational. At the Cougar Invitational, where the majority of Lewis' team competed, the Flyers placed fifth in the women's standings (44 points) and sixth among the men (50 points). The Flyers had 13 top-five finishes, including wins by senior Theresa Dexl in the 3000-meter steeplechase (13:01.0); freshman Kelsey Boland in the triple jump (34-0 ¼); junior Rachel Quintana in the shot put (36-8 ¼) and discus (125-5); sophomore Scott Barnas in the shot put (50-0) and Probst in the discus (160-5). The Flyers head to the GLVC Outdoor Championships this weekend. |
