Flyers Move To 2-0 With Victory Over Michigan Tech

SOMERS, Wis. - The Flyers improved to 2-0 with a victory in the GLVC/GLIAC Challenge over Michigan Tech 70-52 on Saturday afternoon on the campus of the University of Wisconsin Parkside.

Lewis used a 9-2 run to end the first half and take a 36-32 lead into the break. Junior Jason Genova scored 14 points in the first half. Tim Strom scored 18 points for the Huskies in first.

The Huskies tied the game at 50 on a layup by Kris Alpers but the Flyers scored the next 16 points to pull away.

Genova finished with 24 points on 9-of-15 shooting.

Junior Brandon Dagans and senior Stephan Bolt both finished with 16 points. Bolt also grabbed 11 rebounds.

Lewis perimeter defense held the Huskies to just 9-of-28 shooting from beyond the arc. The Flyers also found an answer for Strom, limiting him to only three points in the second half.

Michigan Tech fell to 0-2.

The Flyers play at St. Francis on Nov. 24.
