MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Senior Brian Carlson and sophomore Josh Butterfield tied for first among a field of 56 golfers to lead Lewis to a first-place finish at the Fairfield Spring Invitational, held at Crown Park. The tournament was originally scheduled for three rounds, but was shortened to a single round due to poor weather. The one round was played on Saturday in high winds. Lewis (313) finished first among 10 participating teams and finished some nine strokes ahead of second-place finisher and tournament host Fairfield University. Carlson and Butterfield each carded 75. Freshman Logan Watts also finished in the top 10, stroking a 79 for ninth place. Sophomore Paul Dagys tied for 14th (80), junior Greg Roderique tied for 22nd (83), and sophomore Peter Tanaka tied for 49th (89). The Flyers compete next at the Butler Spring Invitational on March 24. |
