LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Junior Greg Roderique and freshman Logan Watts each placed in the top five, as the Flyers finished second among nine teams at the Bellarmine Intercollegiate played at Persimmon Ridge. Roderique carded 72-78=150 to lead the Flyers and finish third overall among the 60-golfer field. His 72 in the opening round was a season best. Watts was fourth (73-78=151), setting a career best with his first-round 73. Senior Brian Carlson (76-79=155) and sophomore Paul Dagys (74-81=155) tied for tenth. Sophomore Josh Butterfield (79-77=156) was 15th, and sophomore Peter Tanaka (80-78=158) was 24th. The Flyers (295-311=606) finished just three strokes in back of first-place Bellarmine (303-300=603). Lewis was ahead of fellow GLVC foes Northern Kentucky (608), Missouri-St. Louis (625) and St. Joseph's (651). The Flyers resume play on April 5 at the Northern Kentucky Spring Regional Invitational. |
