BIG RAPIDS, Mich. - Sophomore Josh Butterfield carded a 1-under-par 71 in the final round to finish in a tie for fifth among 71 golfers at the 11-team Ferris State Bulldog Invitational, Sunday afternoon at Katke Golf Course. Butterfield's 71 followed an opening round 72. He was Lewis' top finisher for the second time in as many tournaments this fall. Senior Brian Carlson (75-75=149) tied for 17th, sophomore Peter Tanaka tied for 32nd with an 83 in the opening round and a career-best 70 on Sunday. Freshman Logan Watts tied for 54th (79-80=159). Junior Greg Roderique finished 60th (85-76=161) and sophomore Paul Dagys was 68th (81-82=163). The Flyers (307-301=608) topped Tiffin (308-308=616), St. Joseph's (311-312=623) and Northern Michigan (317-307=624) in the team standings. Grand Valley State finished first (292-282=574). The Flyers golf next at the Great Lakes Fall Regional on Sept. 23-24. |
