SOUTH HAVEN, Mich. - Lewis University sophomore Josh Butterfield hit a hole-in-one en route to a final-round 69, to lead Lewis at the Great Lakes Fall Regional, which concluded Monday afternoon at Hawkshead Golf Links.

Butterfield's 69, his second-best round of the season, followed an opening round of 76. His 145 tournament total was 11th best among the 120 golfers in the field, and he led Lewis in scoring for a third time in as many tournaments this fall.

Butterfield shot his ace on the 182-yard par 3 16th hole. It was one of three hole-in-ones shot during the round on Monday.

Sophomore Paul Dagys was Lewis' next highest finisher, tying for 38th (71-79=150). His opening-round 71 topped his previous career-best round of 80, set last season. Senior Brian Carlson finished third for Lewis and tied for 55th overall (77-75=152). Junior Greg Roderique tied for 64th (75-78=153).

Sophomore Peter Tanaka also competed for the Flyers, finishing in a tie for 114th (85-81=166).

The Flyers (299-301=600) wound up in 11th place among the 24-team field. Lewis topped eight other Great Lakes Valley Conference foes, finishing just ahead of Drury (601), Northern Kentucky (603) and Southern Illinois Edwardsville (607). Ashland (574) finished first.

The Flyers golf next at the Murray State Invitational on October 1-2.
