PEORIA, Ill. - Senior Andrew Northrup finished second and was one of three Flyers in the top 25 of the college division to lead Lewis to a second-place finish at the Bradley Open Friday evening. Lewis (75 points) finished two places ahead of Southern Illinois Edwardsville (106 points), the only other Great Lakes Valley Conference school in the field. Northrup ran the 8K course in 25:52, just six seconds behind leader Erick Steffens of SIU-Edwardsville. Freshman Andy Lepkowski was eighth (26:12), and senior Sinan Khamo finished 15th (26:40). Also scoring for Lewis were juniors Jeff Ritzema (28th, 27:06) and Patrick Walsh (34th, 27:32). Senior Adrian Myers (45th, 27:58) and freshman Seth Schultz (65th, 28:50) also competed for Lewis. North Central (27 points) earned the team win. Olivet Nazarene (78 points) was third. The college division consisted of 126 runners. |
