Dawn (Harvey) Erickson is in her second season at Lewis as a full-time assistant coach.

Erickson, a 2000 graduate of Saint Joseph's College (Ind.), played for Plett during his time as head coach at Saint Joseph's. She was a two-time team captain and graduated summa cum laude.

A Rockford, Ill., native, Erickson returned home after graduation and was girls' varsity assistant basketball coach at Rockford East High School for one season. She then earned a teaching position at Rockford Christian High School where she taught business courses and was girls' varsity head basketball coach for three years.

Erickson holds Saint Joseph's single-season records for 3-point field goals made (53) and attempted (125), establishing the standards in 1998-99. She also holds the Saint Joseph's career mark for 3-point field goals attempted (340) and ranks second in 3-point field goals made (115), fourth in games started (74) and 10th in assists (363).

In 1998-99, Erickson ranked 17th in NCAA Division II in 3-point field goal percentage (42.4 percent) and 18th in the nation in assists (6.0 per game). That season, she averaged a career-high 9.2 points per game and 3.4 rebounds per game while helping the Pumas to a 15-12 record.

Erickson will be extensively involved in recruiting, scouting and practice instruction. In addition, she will work with Lewis' perimeter players on individual skills.

Erickson and her husband Tor were wed in 2001 and reside in Romeoville, Ill.
