OWENSBORO, Ky. - The Lewis University women's tennis earned its first team victory of the season with a dominating 7-2 win over Kentucky Wesleyan on Friday afternoon. The Flyers improved to 1-8 (1-4 GLVC) with the win. All five of the Flyers singles competitors earned straight-set victories. Senior Erin Piechocinski won her fifth match of the year with a 6-2, 6-3 decision over Mackenzie Clausman. Senior Melanie Sandburg improved to 6-2 with a 7-5, 6-0 victory over Jennifer Settle. Junior Jordan Lynde defeated Amanda Nichols 6-2, 6-0 for her fourth win of the season, and freshman Clare Kessler dropped Heather Allgood 6-4, 6-2 to improve to 3-6. Junior Michelle Wright notched her second win of the season with shutout over Brittany Deese. In doubles action, Piechocinski and Sandberg disposed of Settle and Clausman 8-4, while Kessler and Lynde beat Allgood and Nichols 8-2.
