ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The Lewis University women's tennis team received singles win from senior Erin Piechocinski, junior Agata Wojciechowska and junior Michelle Wright, but the Flyers came up short in a tight 5-4 loss to Saint Joseph's on Tuesday afternoon at the Lewis Tennis Courts. Piechocinski claimed a 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 win over Jordan Orner to improve to 6-7 in singles play this season. Wojciechowska won 6-4, 7-5 over Angela Burgeson to move to 2-1 for the season. Wright won for a fourth time this year, downing Jessica Portney 6-1, 6-0. In doubles action, Piechocinski and senior Melanie Sanberg took down Saint Joseph's No. 1 doubles pair 8-4. The Flyers (1-12, 1-8) play at Northern Kentucky on Friday. |
