The Flyers head to Grand Valley State for the Great Lakes Regional.
 
Flyers Earn No. 2 Seed In NCAA Regional

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The No. 17 Lewis University women's volleyball team has earned the No. 2 seed in the Great Lakes Regional which will be held on the campus of Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Mich. The Flyers will play Ashland in the first round at 1:30 p.m. CT on Thursday, Nov. 15.

This will be Lewis' eighth NCAA appearance. The Flyers won their second straight and sixth overall Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship with a sweep of No. 20 Indianapolis on Sunday. Lewis holds a 30-3 record, their first 30 win season since 1988. The Flyers are currently on a 14 match win streak, the second longest in school history.

Ashland enters the tournament as the No. 7 seed with a 26-5 overall record. The Eagles lost to Hillsdale 3-1 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament semifinals. Last season Ashland won the GLIAC Championship.

In other first round matches No. 3 Indianapolis (32-3), the GLVC runner-up, faces No. 6 Hillsdale (26-7) of the GLIAC; No. 4 Northern Kentucky (26-8) meets No. 5 Southern Illinois Edwardsville (26-6); and No. 1 Grand Valley State (30-3) plays No. 8 Charleston (28-11) of the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Should the Flyers advance they would play on Friday at 4 p.m. CT against the winner of the Indianapolis-Hillsdale match. The regional championship will be held on Saturday at 6 p.m. CT.

In the GLVC Tournament semifinals the Flyers came back to defeat No. 13 Southern Illinois Edwardsville after losing the first two games. With wins over SIUE and Indianapolis in the GLVC Tournament the Flyers were able to avenge their only two regular season conference losses.
