ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Flyers, No. 2 in the Great Lakes Region, face No. 7 Ashland in the first round today at 1:30 p.m. CT. Click HERE for live stats. This will be Lewis' eighth NCAA appearance. The Flyers won their second straight and sixth overall Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship with a sweep of No. 20 Indianapolis on Sunday. Lewis holds a 30-3 record, their first 30 win season since 1988. The Flyers are currently on a 14 match win streak, the second longest in school history. Ashland enters the tournament as the No. 7 seed with a 26-5 overall record. The Eagles lost to Hillsdale 3-1 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament semifinals. The Eagles are ranked No. 15 nationally. Last season Ashland won the GLIAC Championship. Should the Flyers advance they would play on Friday at 4 p.m. CT against Indianapolis. The Greyhounds defeated Hillsdale 3-1 in the early match on Thursday. The regional championship will be held on Saturday at 6 p.m. CT. |
