EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - Lewis University senior Terran Wertz and freshman Kathryn Hague finished 34th and 36th among 213 runners, to lead the Flyers to an 11th-place showing at the Border War Invitational Saturday afternoon. Wertz covered the 5K course in 19:52.08, with Hague just four seconds behind. Senior Kristin Johnson came in 55th (20:35.60), freshman Hailey Justes was 93rd (21:34.28) and senior Theresa Dexl finished 98th (21:41.89). Freshman Danielle Thompson (103rd, 21:46.15) and senior Becky Herbert (124th, 22:25.93) also competed for the Flyers. The Flyers (286 points) finished in front of conference foes Drury (12th, 305 points) and Kentucky Wesleyan (20th, 560 points) in the 25-team field. The meet was the Flyers' final tune-up before the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships set for Oct. 20. |
